Nucleus of Bees

The Nucleus of Bees contains between 4 and 6 frames of local honey bee brood, eggs, larvae, stores and one queen. It is advised that the colony is checked for disease within one week of collection by the customer themselves, preferably with the help of their local bee inspector. The frames are all 'National deep brood' and are only compatible with National hives. Sorry, but we dont supply any other frame types.

Please pay our deposit to book your nucleus of bees for 2025. The deposit is refundable if you bring back or post back the box within 3 weeks. It must be still in it's previous good condition to get a 100% refund. The box may be polystyrene, plywood or correx. The deposit is also refundable if we cannot for any reason provide you with any bees.

Please book early as bees will be available on a first come first serve basis.
The nucleus availability is limited to one per person due to limited supply.
We do not sell mated queens on their own and do not export outside the UK.

The nucleus of bees will be available from April 2025 onwards. The best colonies are those that have been over-Wintered from the previous year - so book early!
